short answer
Janoshik is the reference lab for many buyers and group testers, and none of the labs compared here matches its whole menu. The closest alternative depends on what you need: mass-spectrometry identity on the report (MZ Biolabs, Freedom Diagnostics, SideChain), a 14-day USP <71> sterility test (Vanguard, Krause, TrustPointe), a shorter published turnaround (Freedom, TrustPointe), or a lab in your own region (Analiza Białek, PeptideVerify, SideChain, Ozcanium).
Why buyers look for a Janoshik alternative
Janoshik is the lab many group testers start with, and many buyers treat its results as the reference. People still look for a Janoshik alternative, for one of five practical reasons:
- A test or report format it does not list. Janoshik’s standard peptide method is HPLC, which reports mg per vial and purity. Its sterility add-on is a microbial count (TAMC and TYMC) reported as pass or fail, which is a different method from the USP <71> sterility test. Some buyers want mass-spectrometry identity printed on every report.
- Turnaround. Janoshik publishes an average of 7 business days for peptide tests, and 14 days for sterility. Rush testing can be arranged before the sample arrives.
- Region. Janoshik is based in the Czech Republic. Buyers in the US, Canada or Australia may prefer a lab inside their own postal system.
- Verification needs. A vendor or a group may ask for results from a named lab.
- A second opinion. Groups send one batch to two labs to compare. Labs often disagree, as our guide on why labs disagree explains.
What Janoshik offers, as the baseline
Any alternative should be measured against what Janoshik already does well:
- Breadth. About 80 peptide tests, plus steroids, SARMs and other compounds. HGH can be tested for amount, purity, and dimer and larger proteins.
- A blind GLP-1 test. It finds which of semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide is in the vial, or a mixture, without being told the label.
- Add-ons per sample. Endotoxin (LAL), sterility (TAMC and TYMC), TFA, raw data, a fentanyl check, variance testing across vials, pH, CHNS and an LC-MS contamination screen.
- Report checks. Each report has a task number, a 12-character key and a QR code. The verify page shows a watermarked photo of the vial.
- Ordering. Card, bank transfer and crypto. Each test page shows a price; our price comparison lists them by lab. Group tests are arranged through the contact form.
Our Janoshik review covers ordering and report checks step by step.
Janoshik alternatives compared: Vanguard, Chromate, MZ Biolabs, Testides and more
The table lists labs that test the same kinds of peptides, with Janoshik first as the baseline. “Identity” is the method each lab names for its standard test. Turnaround is what the lab publishes, not a measured figure.
| Lab | Based in | Identity on the standard test | Endotoxin / sterility | Published turnaround | How a report is checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Janoshik (baseline) | Czech Republic | HPLC; the report names the peptide | LAL endotoxin; TAMC and TYMC count, pass or fail | Average 7 business days; sterility 14 days | Task number and 12-character key; QR code |
| Freedom Diagnostics | Franklin, TN, US | LC-MS identity, paired with HPLC purity | LAL endotoxin; PCR microbial screen | Average 1–3 business days | Public lookup by company name or code |
| Vanguard Laboratory | Olympia, WA, US | HPLC-UV retention time against a reference standard | Endotoxin; USP <71> 14-day sterility as an option | Confirmed per order; sterility 14 days | Report hub, for reports the client makes public |

| TrustPointe Analytics | Dorr, MI, US | HPLC-UV retention time and UV spectrum | USP <85> endotoxin; USP <71> sterility | 3–5 business days | QR code or key on the lab’s LIMS |
| Krause Analytical | Austin, TX, US | HPLC-UV and HPLC-MS | USP <85> endotoxin; USP <71> sterility as add-ons | Not published | Upload form; the lab replies by email |
| Analiza Białek | Wrocław, Poland | HPLC-DAD against reference standards | None listed | 5–7 working days stated | Order number and password |
| PeptideVerify | London, UK | HPLC, with LC-MS identity in the full option, at a UK partner lab | Endotoxin (LAL); check availability before sending | 5–7 business days; express 3–5 | QR code and reference number |
| Testides | Ontario, Canada | HPLC-DAD retention time and UV match; MS when ordered | Endotoxin (USP <85>) | Results within 10 days or money back | Report number lookup on its verify page |
| SideChain Analytics | Mississauga, Canada | HPLC-MS/MS (MRM) | Kinetic chromogenic LAL; no sterility | 5–7 business days | QR code, or report number, sample ID and code |
| Ozcanium Analytics | Sydney, Australia | LC-MS/MS (MRM) with UPLC-UV purity | Endotoxin; no sterility | 4–10 business days typical | Verification code |
| HK Analytical | Mail-in | LC-MS mass match | Endotoxin (LAL); Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) | Results within days of receipt; sterility 14 days | Signed record, private link, /verify |
Two notes on the table. Testides describes itself as an analytical data service: a laboratory performs the measurement, and Testides coordinates the work and reviews the data. PeptideVerify sends samples to a UK partner laboratory. Vanguard holds A2LA ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation (certificate 6377.01). Its published scope does not cover peptide purity, identity, endotoxin or sterility, and Vanguard says on its site that accreditation applies only to the methods in its scope.

Choosing an alternative by what you need
Mass-spectrometry identity on the report
Retention time alone can match a similar peptide. If you need the mass on paper, MZ Biolabs prints expected and measured mass, Freedom prints a spectrum image, and SideChain and Ozcanium use triple-quadrupole MS. Our page on LC-MS identity shows what a mass match looks like.
A 14-day sterility test
Vanguard, Krause and TrustPointe list USP <71>. Chromate’s page describes membrane filtration and incubation per USP <71>, but a Chromate report we read cited USP <1223>, the chapter on alternative methods. Janoshik’s TAMC and TYMC test is a microbial count, and Freedom’s PCR test screens for microbial DNA. Neither is the USP <71> method. Our guide to sterility testing explains the difference.
A blind GLP-1 test
Janoshik’s blind test covers semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide. Ozcanium sells a blind GLP-1 test in Australia. See blind GLP-1 identification for how these tests work.
A lab in your region
In Europe, Analiza Białek works in Polish, and PeptideVerify serves the UK. In Canada, SideChain and Testides take samples. In Australia, Ozcanium serves local buyers. Our guides to peptide testing in Europe, Canada and Australia cover each region in more depth.
A portal for group tests
Janoshik arranges group tests through its contact form, because its shop cannot split a payment. Peptide Test gives each group a Group Test ID, lets members split the payment, and shows payment and shipping status in its portal. Our guide on how to run a peptide group test covers the steps.
A result your vendor will accept
Check the vendor’s refund terms before you pick a lab. Our guide on which lab results vendors accept explains why this matters. If a group wants a cross-check, send vials from the same batch to two labs on the same day and ask both for the basis of the mg result.
Finnrick vs Janoshik: two different services
Finnrick is not a lab. It collects samples, sends them to partner labs and publishes vendor pass rates. Finnrick’s lab page lists about 200 published Janoshik results, dated 14 April to 9 September 2025, and no Janoshik tests can be ordered there now. If you want Janoshik, order directly. Finnrick also offers free community testing with published results, but not at Janoshik. Our guides to free peptide testing and Finnrick alternatives compare the routes.
What HK Analytical offers
We run identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC), content per vial, blind GLP-1 identification, endotoxin (LAL), Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days), residual solvents, counter-ion (TFA, acetate), water content (Karl Fischer) and vial-to-vial consistency. You can order any mix per sample in one order, and see the full test list. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days.
Every number comes with its raw data. The report is a signed record with a private link, and it can be checked on /verify. It shows our own photo of the vial as received and states how the client is related to HK Analytical. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Quotes are on request, and organisers can arrange group tests.
Questions
Does Janoshik test for endotoxins?
Yes. Janoshik lists endotoxin (LPS) testing by the LAL method as an add-on to a peptide test or as a standalone test. It needs one vial, and the lab recommends two. Its sterility add-on is a separate test: a microbial count (TAMC and TYMC) reported as pass or fail after 14 days.
Does Janoshik test peptides for free?
No. Janoshik sells each test from its online shop. Free tests in this market come from Finnrick's community programme, which publishes the results, or from tests a vendor pays for. Janoshik ran Finnrick tests from April to September 2025 and is not orderable there now.
Is there a Janoshik alternative in Europe?
Two options are Analiza Białek in Wrocław, Poland (HPLC-DAD, a sample photo on the report, a Polish-language site) and PeptideVerify in London, which sends samples to a UK partner laboratory for HPLC and LC-MS. Janoshik itself is based in the Czech Republic.
Finnrick vs Janoshik: what is the difference?
Janoshik is a laboratory you order tests from directly. Finnrick is a testing and rating platform: it sends samples to partner labs, publishes the results and scores vendors by pass rate. You cannot choose Janoshik through Finnrick today.
How do I send peptides to Janoshik for testing?
You order the test in Janoshik's shop and get shipping instructions after payment. For a peptide it asks for one whole unopened vial of powder. Endotoxin and sterility add-ons need extra vials. Rush testing is arranged through the contact form before the sample arrives.
