Peptide packages and tests Vanguard lists

The peptide testing page sells three levels:

  • Silver (Level 1): purity, quantity, identity and solubility. One vial.
  • Gold (Level 2): Silver plus endotoxin, bioburden (USP <61>), fentanyl screening and vial seal integrity. Three vials.
  • Elite (Level 3): Gold plus one further screen. Four vials.

Two options can be added at any level: sterility (USP <71>, 14 days, one extra vial) and multi-vial conformity (one to three extra vials). Vanguard also lists TFA analysis, residual solvents, purity only for raw powders, and a pH check for bacteriostatic water and other reconstitution solutions.

The lab’s wording on these tests is careful. It states that bioburden is not sterility, and that results apply to the submitted sample and do not establish suitability for human or veterinary use.

How identity is confirmed

Purity is measured by HPLC-UV. On the reports we read, identity is shown by retention time against a reference standard, as the comparison table records. A retention time match is useful, but two peptides can elute close together, so it is weaker evidence than a mass match. Vanguard’s reports state failures plainly when identity does not match. Our guide to LC-MS identity explains the difference.

Endotoxin, bioburden and sterility at Vanguard

Vanguard keeps these tests apart, which helps buyers. Endotoxin is in the Gold package or can be ordered alone. Bioburden (USP <61>) counts microbes in the sample. Sterility is the USP <71> method, with a 14-day testing period and one extra vial. The comparison table marks Vanguard’s sterility as meeting USP <71>. Our guide to bioburden vs sterility covers the difference.

What Vanguard’s ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation covers

Vanguard holds A2LA certificate 6377.01 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, in the biological field of testing, valid to 30 September 2027. Its published scope lists, among other methods, food microbiology, preservatives (parabens) and residual solvents, including trifluoroacetic acid. The scope does not list peptide HPLC purity, identity, quantity, endotoxin, USP <71> sterility or USP <61> bioburden. The lab’s own site says accreditation applies to the methods in its accredited scope and asks buyers to check which methods apply. Read the scope before you rely on the accreditation for a peptide result. Our guide to ISO 17025 for peptide testing explains how to read a scope.

Vanguard turnaround

The peptide page says turnaround depends on the selected tests and is confirmed by the laboratory, and that sterility requires 14 days. The order form offers routine or expedited service, with expedited subject to approval.

How to verify a Vanguard COA, step by step

  1. Find the report number on the PDF. It is a V, six digits, a hyphen and a sequence number, for example V260904-27.
  2. Type verifiedbyvanguard.com/search into your browser yourself.
  3. Search the report number. The hub also searches by product, compound, batch or organisation.
  4. Compare the hub’s record with your PDF, field by field.
  5. If the report is not listed, the client may have kept it private or shared it by link or password only. The reports we read carried no QR code or access code, so ask the seller for the link or to publish it, or contact the lab through its website.

The Vanguard reports we read carry two named sign-offs with dates, and the recent ones a photo of the vial with the lab’s label, which helps tie the report to a sample. Our COA verification guide lists the checks that work for any lab.

How to order Vanguard testing

  1. Start an order at verifiedbyvanguard.com/order. It verifies your email, saves drafts and lets you enter each sample. A fillable paper form is also available.
  2. Pick a package and options. The form shows how many vials to send.
  3. Ship the vials to the lab in Olympia.
  4. Within one week after intake, Vanguard emails a secure payment link. Pay before the reports are ready to avoid delays.
  5. The report is emailed to the verified order address. You choose how it is shared: public search, link only, password or unpublished.

Who Vanguard Laboratory suits

Vanguard suits buyers and sellers who want:

  • a package that includes endotoxin and bioburden;
  • an optional USP <71> sterility test;
  • residual solvents and TFA from the same lab;
  • published prices;
  • reports with two named sign-offs.

Buyers who need a mass-spectrometry identity result, or a code on the report itself, should ask before ordering. For other labs, see peptide testing labs compared and Janoshik alternatives.

How HK Analytical differs

Our identity result is LC-MS, with the expected and observed mass and the error. Every number comes with its raw data. Each report is a signed record with a private link that anyone holding it can check on /verify, and it states how the client is related to us. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. See the example report.
