Why HK Analytical
What a peptide report should prove, what ours print, and how that compares with five labs buyers use. Check each line yourself.
Five problems, five answers.
What buyers run into with peptide reports, and what ours do instead.
- 01
Common on peptide reports: A lookup that shows a file, with nothing to prove it was not changed.
On our reports: Every report is a signed record. Open it on hkanalytical.com, compare the PDF’s fingerprint with the one we recorded, or check the signature with our published key.
Verify a report - 02
Common on peptide reports: One certificate on several shops, or edited after release.
On our reports: One report covers one sample from one client and says how that client is related to us. A correction is a new version that names the old one. Nothing is edited in place.
Corrections - 03
Common on peptide reports: Identity from retention time alone.
On our reports: Identity by mass. The report prints the expected and the observed mass, with the error in ppm. Similar peptides can leave the column together; their masses differ.
Identity (LC-MS) - 04
Common on peptide reports: Raw data left out, or sold as an extra.
On our reports: The full chromatogram, the peak table, the integration settings and the mass spectrum are in every report.
Example report - 05
Common on peptide reports: A “sterility” result that is not a sterility test.
On our reports: Ours is USP <71>: the tested units incubate for at least 14 days. A shorter microbial screen is not a sterility test, and we never call it one.
Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days)

Each line is the public page or report a cell comes from. A table of what is printed shows what a buyer can check; it does not show whether a lab’s numbers are right.

What this table does not show.
- 01
Whether a lab’s numbers are right.
A table of what is printed cannot show that. The raw data on a report can, and so can one batch tested at two labs.
- 02
Every report a lab has issued.
We read a few public reports and pages per lab. Formats change; the sources list says what we read and when.
- 03
Our own client reports.
The other labs’ cells come from their real reports. Our column describes our report format, as our example report shows it; every report is produced by the same software, which enforces it.
- 04
A measured turnaround for us.
We say “within days of receipt” and give no day count until we can state one from our own reports.
