short answer
Freedom Diagnostics pairs HPLC purity with LC-MS identity and publishes an average turnaround of 1–3 business days. Buyers look elsewhere when they need something it does not list: a 14-day USP <71> sterility test (Vanguard, Krause, TrustPointe, Accumark), counter-ion or solvent tests (Janoshik, Vanguard), HGH or steroid testing (Janoshik, Chromate), or a lab outside the US (Janoshik, SideChain, Ozcanium).
Why buyers look for a Freedom Diagnostics alternative
Freedom Diagnostics does several things well. It publishes an average turnaround of 1–3 business days, it sells HPLC purity and LC-MS identity together, it puts its own vial photo on the report, and its public lookup lets anyone find a company’s reports. It also has more COAs listed than any other lab on Peptigrity and PeptideBenchmark.
Buyers look for a Freedom Diagnostics alternative when they need something outside that offer:
- A test it does not list. Counter-ion (TFA), residual solvents and water content are not on its menu. It does not accept HGH, HCG, HMG or testosterone products, and steroids and SARMs are not listed.
- A different sterility method. Freedom’s sterility option is a PCR screen for microbial DNA. Some buyers and vendors need the 14-day USP <71> culture test.
- An endotoxin number. Freedom’s 2026 report shows endotoxin by LAL per USP <85>, with two replicates, reported as pass or fail. Some buyers want a value in EU.
- A lab in another country. Freedom is in Franklin, Tennessee.
- A second lab. Groups often send the same batch to two labs to compare.
What Freedom Diagnostics offers, as the baseline
- Purity (HPLC) with identity (LC-MS), always together.
- Net content in mg as an add-on.
- Endotoxin (LAL), sterility by PCR, extra vials on one report (conformity), a fentanyl screen and pH on request.
- Blends with each named peptide’s mg.
- One extra vial for endotoxin and one for sterility.
Our Freedom Diagnostics review covers ordering and the report in detail.
Freedom Diagnostics alternatives by need
| What you need | Labs that list it | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| USP <71> sterility, 14 days | Vanguard, Krause, TrustPointe, Accumark, Bioviridian | Needs its own vials; takes at least 14 days |
| Counter-ion (TFA) | Janoshik, Vanguard | Add-on to a peptide test |
| Water content (Karl Fischer) | TrustPointe, ACS | Explains part of the gap between powder and peptide |
| Residual solvents | Vanguard, Krause, ACS | Krause cites USP <467> |
| HGH | Janoshik, Chromate | Both list a dimer option |
| Steroids or SARMs | Janoshik, Chromate (SARMs) | Freedom does not list them |
| Blind GLP-1 test | Janoshik; Ozcanium in Australia | You do not tell the lab the label |
| Endotoxin reported in EU | Chromate, Accumark, SideChain | Freedom’s 2026 report shows pass or fail |
| Expected and measured mass on the report | MZ Biolabs | Accurate mass by QTOF |
Our guides to sterility testing and TFA in peptides explain when these tests matter.

PharmLabs holds PJLA ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Its scope lists 10 peptides by HPLC and does not list retatrutide, tirzepatide, endotoxin or sterility. Freedom does not claim ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
Freedom Diagnostics alternatives outside the US
- Janoshik (Prague, Czech Republic): about 80 peptides, ships from any country, report check by task number and key.
- Analiza Białek (Wrocław, Poland): HPLC-DAD with a sample photo on the report; the site is in Polish.
- PeptideVerify (London, UK): HPLC and LC-MS at a UK partner laboratory; 5–7 business days standard.
- SideChain Analytics (Mississauga, Canada): HPLC-MS/MS identity, purity and net peptide content; 5–7 business days.
- Ozcanium Analytics (Sydney, Australia): LC-MS/MS identity with UPLC purity, a blind GLP-1 test and endotoxin.
Janoshik vs Freedom Diagnostics
Janoshik and Freedom rank first and second in Peptides Weekly’s Q3 2026 lab guide. In an August 2026 Substack post, Krysia published both labs’ results on one tesamorelin batch: 97.779% purity and 11.057 mg at Janoshik, 99.985% and 10.055 mg at Freedom. That is a single published case, not proof that either lab is wrong. Our side-by-side guide on Janoshik vs Freedom Diagnostics explains why the numbers can differ.
Before you switch labs
- Check what your vendor accepts. Refund terms often name a lab.
- Match the tests. A PCR screen and a USP <71> test answer different questions, so compare like with like.
- Ask for the basis of the mg. Net peptide and total powder give different numbers for the same vial.
- Send enough vials. Endotoxin and sterility each need their own vials at most labs.
What HK Analytical offers
We run Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days), counter-ion (TFA, acetate), water content (Karl Fischer) and residual solvents, alongside identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC), content per vial, blind GLP-1 identification, endotoxin (LAL) and vial-to-vial consistency. Any mix, per sample, in one order. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days.
Every number comes with its raw data, and each report is a signed record you can check on /verify. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Quotes are on request.
Questions
Which labs run a USP <71> sterility test instead of a PCR screen?
Vanguard Laboratory, Krause Analytical, TrustPointe Analytics, Accumark Labs and Bioviridian list a USP <71> sterility test. The method incubates for 14 days, so results take at least that long. Freedom Diagnostics' sterility option is a PCR screen for microbial DNA, which is a quicker test of a different kind.
Does Freedom Diagnostics test HGH?
No. Freedom Diagnostics does not accept HGH, HCG, HMG or testosterone products. Janoshik lists HGH tests for amount and purity, with an option for dimer and larger proteins. Chromate lists hGH with an optional dimer test.
Janoshik vs Freedom Diagnostics: how do they differ?
Janoshik has the broader menu (about 80 peptides, steroids, a blind GLP-1 test) and publishes an average turnaround of 7 business days. Freedom says it always pairs HPLC purity with LC-MS identity, and publishes an average of 1–3 business days. In one published case, the two labs gave 97.779% and 99.985% purity on the same batch.
Which Freedom Diagnostics alternative has the shortest published turnaround?
Accumark publishes 48–72 hours after it accepts a sample. TrustPointe, PharmLabs and Bioviridian publish 3–5 business days. Freedom itself publishes an average of 1–3 business days. These are the labs' own figures, and shipping comes on top.
How many vials do the alternatives need?
It depends on the tests. Freedom asks for one extra vial each for endotoxin and sterility. Vanguard's Silver panel needs one vial, Gold three and Elite four; sterility needs one more. Janoshik asks for two unopened vials for sterility and one, ideally two, for endotoxin.
