short answer
Chromate is an analytical lab in Hudson, New Hampshire, that tests research peptides, SARMs, other research chemicals and supplements, mainly by HPLC. It publishes a price for every compound, offers endotoxin by kinetic chromogenic LAL and a sterility test, and gives no turnaround figure. You check a Chromate COA in its Chromate Verify portal with the job number and access code.
What Chromate is and where it is based
Chromate is an analytical testing service in Hudson, New Hampshire, USA. It started in the fitness and supplement world. Its home page describes supplement analysis for the health and fitness community, with the aim of “keeping manufacturers honest”. Today it tests research peptides, SARMs, other research chemicals and supplements. The chromate.org domain was registered in 2021.
Finnrick, a rating site, published more than 670 Chromate tests across 15 peptides between December 2024 and July 2026.

Tests and methods Chromate lists
The services page states: “All tests are qualitative and quantitative analyses by HPLC unless otherwise specified.” It lists:
- Research peptides, including the incretin peptides semaglutide, tirzepatide, retatrutide, mazdutide, survodutide and liraglutide, the amylin analogue cagrilintide, growth hormone secretagogues, and hGH with or without dimer detection.
- Research chemicals such as aromatase inhibitors, SERMs and PDE5 inhibitors, plus 16 SARMs.
- Supplements: creatine, TUDCA, melatonin and olive oil biophenols by the IOOC method.
- Microbiology: endotoxin and sterility.
- Variance testing: extra vials, capsules or tablets from the same batch.
Residual solvents, TFA and blends are not listed. Unlisted compounds are quoted on request.
Chromate’s published method details
Chromate answered Finnrick’s methodology questionnaire on 12 January 2026. Its answers say:
- Quantity is measured against an external reference standard, by UV.
- The standard is injected in replicate, with a system suitability limit of RSD below 0.3%.
- Purity and quantity are measured independently.
- The stated error is 2–5%.
- Quantity is reported as recovered mass, rounded to four significant figures.
- MS is used for characterisation or for compounds without a UV chromophore.
Read our guide to peptide test accuracy to see what a 2–5% error means for a vial result.
How identity is confirmed
For standard peptide tests, Chromate’s reports identify the peptide by HPLC-UV, which means matching retention time against a reference standard. Its methodology answers say MS is kept for characterisation or for compounds a UV detector cannot see. A retention time match is weaker evidence than a mass match, because two peptides can elute close together. If you need a mass result, ask before you order. Our guide to LC-MS identity explains the difference.
Endotoxin and sterility at Chromate
Endotoxin is measured by kinetic chromogenic LAL, with results in EU. The services page states a sensitivity of 0.0001 ng of LPS.
The services page describes sterility as membrane filtration and incubation per USP <71>, covering aerobic and anaerobic microbes and yeast. It does not state the incubation time. USP <71> incubates for 14 days, so confirm the incubation period and the number of units tested with the lab. Peptides need at least one vial for HPLC, plus additional vials for microbiology.
Chromate turnaround
Chromate gives no turnaround figure. The site says results are made available promptly. Ask for an estimate when you order, and allow longer for a sterility test, which needs an incubation period.
How to verify a Chromate COA, step by step
Chromate Verify returns the lab’s own copy of the report, which you can compare with a seller’s copy.
- Find the job number (up to five digits) and the access code on the COA.
- Open chromate.org yourself and choose Verify in the site header.
- Enter the job number and access code.
- Compare the portal’s copy with yours: compound, results, specification and verdict, received and analysis dates.
- Check the vial photo. On the reports we read, it is tied to the job number.
There is no public list to browse; each report is checked on its own. Our COA verification guide covers the checks that apply to any lab.
How to order Chromate testing
- Pick tests from the services page and email the lab to order. There is no online cart.
- Pay by credit card, CashApp, Venmo, Bitcoin, or Apple or Google Pay.
- Chromate sends the shipping address once payment is complete.
- Label each sample with its name and batch, put a slip with your email in the package, and send it by any courier.
- Collect the results through the Verify portal.
For powders, Chromate asks for 200–1,000 mg in a small bag or a 2 mL autosampler vial; for liquids, 0.5–1 mL.
Who Chromate suits
Chromate suits buyers who want:
- one lab for peptides, SARMs, research chemicals and supplements;
- a published price for every compound;
- published method details, including a stated error;
- a one-page report with a specification, result and verdict.
Ask first if you need a mass-spectrometry identity result on a standard peptide report, residual solvents or TFA, or a published turnaround. Compare other labs in peptide testing labs compared and Janoshik alternatives.
How HK Analytical differs
Our identity result is LC-MS, with the expected and observed mass and the error. Our panel includes residual solvents, counter-ion (TFA, acetate) and Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days). Every number comes with its raw data, in a signed record you can check on /verify. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. See the example report and the comparison table.
Questions
Where is Chromate located?
Chromate's contact page gives its location as Hudson, New Hampshire, USA, and the site describes the company as American. Chromate sends the shipping address for samples once you have paid for an order.
How much does Chromate peptide testing cost?
Chromate publishes a price for every compound and add-on on its services page, including extra vials for variance testing and the microbiology tests. Unlisted compounds are quoted on request. It accepts credit card, CashApp, Venmo, Bitcoin, and Apple or Google Pay.
How do I check Chromate peptide testing results?
Open chromate.org yourself and choose Verify in the header. Enter the job number (up to five digits) and the access code printed on the COA. The portal shows the lab's copy of the report. Compare it with the copy you were given, including the vial photo.
Is Chromate Labs legit?
We do not rate other labs. These facts can be checked: Chromate publishes its methods and a price for every compound, answered Finnrick's methodology questionnaire in January 2026, and lets anyone check a report in Chromate Verify. It claims no ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. For any lab, check the COA at the source and look for a mass-based identity result.
Can I order Chromate tests through Finnrick?
Finnrick published more than 670 Chromate tests between December 2024 and July 2026. When we checked in September 2026, Finnrick showed Chromate test options as unavailable to order online. You can still order directly from Chromate by email.
