Finnrick explained: how its peptide testing, lab network and vendor ratings work

short answer

Finnrick is a US testing and rating platform, not a lab. It collects peptide samples, sends them anonymised to partner labs (Krause Analytical ran about 61% of its 10,405 published tests) and scores each vendor and peptide by a recency-weighted pass percentage under a chosen standard. Community tests are free and published; paid tests add endotoxin and privacy. A rating summarises past samples, not the vial in your hand.

What Finnrick is

Finnrick is a testing and rating platform. It is not a laboratory. Finnrick Analytics, based in Austin, Texas, describes itself as a funded, for-profit startup serving the US market. Its first published tests are dated 17 December 2024.

By 20 September 2026 it had published 10,405 tests across 28 products and 352 tested vendors. Its vendor directory lists 1,884 vendors, including many with no tests. In a September 2026 interview, its CEO put the total processed at about 18,000 tests, with GLP-1 peptides making up 63% of requests. Finnrick’s February 2026 summary was that roughly one in three samples fail basic expectations.

How Finnrick peptide testing works

There are three ways to order. Samples are anonymised before they reach the lab.

Option What it covers Who picks the lab Results Target time
Community Identity, purity, quantity Finnrick Published About 4 weeks
Standard (paid) Adds endotoxin Finnrick Private About 2 weeks
Custom (paid) Base test plus add-ons, such as endotoxin or residual solvents You Published, unless you pay for confidential Depends on the lab

Sterility could not be ordered through Finnrick in September 2026. Free testing needs a batch ID with photo evidence (policy since April 2026). Vendor-submitted samples are labelled as such, and vendors’ own COAs do not drive the rankings.

Finnrick’s status page measures time from its own receipt to results, including shipping to the lab. In the three months to 23 September 2026, medians ran from 19 to 24 days across test types at Krause and BTLabs.

Which labs run Finnrick tests

Lab Location Published tests Window Orderable in Sep 2026
Krause Analytical Austin, TX 6,372 Apr 2025–Sep 2026 Yes
BTLabs West Palm Beach, FL 2,411 Jul 2025–Sep 2026 Yes
Chromate Hudson, NH 674 Dec 2024–Jul 2026 No
TrustPointe Analytics Dorr, MI 315 Feb–May 2025 No
Freedom Diagnostics Franklin, TN 216 Apr–Sep 2025 No
Janoshik Czech Republic 195 Apr–Sep 2025 No
MZ Biolabs Tucson, AZ 179 Jan–Sep 2025 No
Ichor Life Sciences Syracuse, NY 24 Jul–Aug 2026 Yes
PharmLabs San Diego, CA 19 Sep 2026 Yes

Krause ran about 61% of all published tests. Finnrick announced Ichor and PharmLabs as new labs in September 2026, citing turnaround, and lists four more labs as pending. In Custom orders you can pick among the orderable labs.

Each lab page also shows a pass rate on recent tests. Those rates mix different vendors and different years, so they do not measure lab accuracy. Finnrick asks each lab a 10-question method questionnaire: how quantity is calculated, sample preparation, detector, how purity relates to quantity, uncertainty, rounding, and what “mg per vial” means. Krause, BTLabs, Chromate, Ichor and PharmLabs have answers on file.

How Finnrick vendor ratings are scored

From letter grades to pass percentages

Until 6 July 2026, Finnrick gave each vendor and product a letter grade from A to E, plus a 0–10 score per test. It dropped both. Now each sample is classed as pass, fail or incomplete under a chosen standard, and each vendor and peptide gets a pass percentage.

Newer tests count more

Each test is weighted by w = 2^(−age/730.5 days), so a test loses half its weight in about two years. Vendors with few tests are pulled toward the average for that peptide with Bayesian “pseudo-samples”, so a short run of passes counts for less than a long record. In the vendor Launch programme, two results are enough for a “tentative” rating.

Five standards

Standard Who can see it Purity Fill vs label Label score Endotoxin
Purity Focus (default) Public ≥99.5% Within ±35% Not used Not used
Finnrick Standard Public ≥99.5% Within ±25% ≥0.5 Not used
Purity Focus Strict Members ≥99.8% Within ±35% Not used Not used
Super Strict Members ≥99.8% Within ±15% 2.0 Not used
Accuracy Focus Members ≥98% Within ±20% ≥0.5 Fails above 40 EU per sample, when tested

Both underfill and overfill fail. The label score runs from 0 to 2: a batch ID printed on the vial scores 2, on a paper insert 1, and on the website only 0.

What Finnrick shows for retatrutide and other peptides

Counts under the default Purity Focus standard (data to 20 September 2026). Pass and fail do not add up to the total, because some samples are incomplete.

Peptide Tests Pass Fail
Retatrutide 3,858 2,988 824
Tirzepatide 2,478 1,930 522
GHK-Cu 807 695 104
BPC-157 791 391 395
Tesamorelin 604 274 326
CJC-1295 294 83 210
NAD+ 27 5 20

By our calculation, about 78% of classified retatrutide samples passed, against about 50% for BPC-157 and 28% for CJC-1295. Our guide to which peptides fail most often looks at the reasons.

How Finnrick checks its own data

  • Samples are anonymised before they go to the lab.
  • Finnrick buys “anchor samples” itself to cross-check results.
  • It compares results from different people who submit the same batch.
  • Vendors can file formal objections.
  • A public corrections log records reissued lab reports and retracted tests, for example a purity result caused by noise integrated as peaks (March 2026).

Finnrick says it estimates whether each lab reads quantity high or low from hundreds of batches tested at several labs. It does not publish those offsets. Our report on same-batch comparisons shows why they matter.

How Finnrick makes money

  • Memberships. A free account sees full leaderboards (logged-out visitors see the top 3). Paid tiers add the original lab certificates as PDFs, the three members-only standards, vendor intelligence reports and alerts.
  • Paid tests. Standard and Custom orders.
  • Vendor services. Free registration with a paid premium listing. “Launch with Finnrick”: the vendor ships 4 samples and 2 are tested; Finnrick’s page says the vendor can review and approve results before publishing, and published results cannot be removed. Private testing with the vendor’s brand on the COA. “Pulse” hosting of private COAs, which do not count toward the rating. “Grow”, where a vendor pays toward its customers’ tests.

Finnrick states it has received no industry funding and no compensation from any vendor that depends on test results.

What a Finnrick rating does not tell you

  • Your own vial. A pass rate summarises earlier samples from that vendor and peptide.
  • Safety, under the default standard. Purity Focus checks purity and fill only. Endotoxin counts only in a members-only standard, and sterility cannot be ordered. See endotoxin testing and sterility testing.
  • Lab offsets. Most results come from one lab, and Finnrick’s offset estimates are not public, so a mg result is that lab’s reading.

If you need a result for one vial, under your own name or privately, see our guide to Finnrick alternatives.

Where HK Analytical fits

We test the vial you send, and you decide whether the report is shared. We run identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC), content per vial, blind GLP-1 identification, endotoxin (LAL), Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days), residual solvents, counter-ion (TFA, acetate), water content (Karl Fischer) and vial-to-vial consistency, in any mix. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days. Every number comes with its raw data, and each report is a signed record you can check on /verify. Quotes are on request.

Questions

Does Finnrick test for free?

Yes. Community testing is free and covers identity, purity and quantity. Finnrick picks the lab and publishes the result, with a target of about four weeks. Since April 2026 a free test needs a batch ID with photo evidence. Paid options add endotoxin, a choice of lab or private results.

Does Finnrick test for endotoxins?

In paid tests, yes. The Standard tier includes endotoxin, and Custom orders can add it at Krause, Ichor or BTLabs. In the ratings, only the members-only Accuracy Focus standard fails a sample for endotoxin, above 40 EU per sample, and only when an endotoxin result exists.

How does Finnrick make money if testing is free?

From memberships (original lab reports, extra rating standards, vendor reports), paid tests, and vendor services: premium listings, the Launch programme, private testing, COA hosting and customer-test subsidies. Finnrick states it takes no vendor payment that depends on test results.

How do I verify a Finnrick COA?

Enter the 7-character certificate ID from the report header at finnrick.com/verify. The page needs a free Finnrick account, and the check runs against Finnrick's own records. Finnrick asks vendors to share the test-page link rather than the PDF. Paying members can also download the original lab certificate.

Can Finnrick be trusted?

Judge it on what it publishes. Its scoring rules, standards and corrections log are public, samples are anonymised, and it buys its own anchor samples. It does not publish its estimates of lab-to-lab offsets. On Trustpilot it showed 4.0 out of 5 from 107 reviews in September 2026.

Which labs does Finnrick use?

Krause Analytical, BTLabs, Ichor Life Sciences and PharmLabs could be ordered through Finnrick in September 2026. Chromate, TrustPointe, Freedom Diagnostics, Janoshik and MZ Biolabs ran earlier tests but are not orderable there now.
