short answer
Finnrick's community tests are free, but Finnrick picks the lab, publishes the result and targets about four weeks. The alternatives are to order directly from a lab (you choose the tests, the lab and who sees the report), to join a group test that splits one lab fee, or to read scores on other rating sites, which rate vendors but do not test your vial.
Why people look for a Finnrick alternative
Finnrick’s community testing is free, and that is its strength. In return you give up three things. Finnrick picks the lab. The result is published. And the target is about four weeks: Finnrick’s own status page showed median times of 19 to 24 days, from its receipt to results and including shipping to the lab, in the three months to 23 September 2026.
People look for a Finnrick alternative when one of those trade-offs does not fit:
- Speed. A group buy or a vendor launch cannot wait a month.
- Privacy. You want the report to stay private, or to carry the name you choose.
- Choice of lab and method. You want a specific identity method, such as an LC-MS mass match printed on the report.
- A test Finnrick does not sell. Sterility could not be ordered through Finnrick in September 2026, and counter-ion or water content tests are not on its menu.
- Eligibility. Free tests need a batch ID with photo evidence. Finnrick serves the US market.
Our guide to how Finnrick works explains its tiers and scoring in full.
Three kinds of Finnrick alternative
| Route | What you get | Who picks the lab | Who sees the result | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Order from a lab directly | A report on your vial, with the tests you choose | You | You, unless you publish it | Janoshik, Freedom Diagnostics, Vanguard, TrustPointe |
| Join or run a group test | One lab fee split among buyers of one batch | The organiser | The group | Group Test Hub, BatchGuild, Peptide Test |
| Read another rating site | Scores built from COAs others paid for, or from the site’s own buys | The site or the vendor | Everyone | Peptigrity, Disclosed Labs, VialAudit |
Labs you can order from directly
These labs take orders from individuals. Turnaround is what each lab publishes. Shipping comes on top.
| Lab | Identity on the standard test | Endotoxin | Sterility | Published turnaround | Who sees the report |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Janoshik | HPLC; blind GLP-1 test as an option | LAL, add-on | Microbial count (TAMC and TYMC), 14 days | Average 7 business days | Private; public database only on request |
| Freedom Diagnostics | LC-MS, sold with HPLC purity | LAL, pass or fail | PCR screen | Average 1–3 business days | Findable in the public lookup under the name you give |
| Vanguard Laboratory | HPLC-UV retention time against a reference standard | Yes | USP <71>, 14 days, as an option | Confirmed per order | Private; on the report hub only if you choose |
| TrustPointe Analytics | HPLC-UV retention time and UV spectrum | USP <85> | USP <71> | 3–5 business days | Private; checked by key |
| Chromate | HPLC | Kinetic chromogenic LAL | Membrane filtration | Not stated | Private; checked by job number and code |
| Accumark Labs | HPLC retention time; LC-MS listed as in development | LAL | PCR screen, or USP <71> 14-day | 48–72 hours after acceptance | Shared by a signed report link |
| PharmLabs | HPLC-DAD against a calibration curve | Yes | Microbial count (TAMC and TYMC) | 3–5 business days | Client portal; QR on the report |
| HK Analytical | LC-MS mass match | LAL | Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) | Results within days of receipt; sterility 14 days | Private link; you decide who sees it |
PharmLabs holds PJLA ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Its scope lists 10 peptides by HPLC, including BPC-157 and semaglutide, and does not list retatrutide, tirzepatide, endotoxin or sterility. Krause, Ichor and BTLabs can also be ordered through Finnrick’s Custom option, where you pick the lab.
Labs in Canada, Australia, the UK and Poland also take samples. Our Janoshik alternatives guide compares them.
Group tests: splitting the cost without Finnrick
A group test buys one lab test and shares it. The organiser collects money, picks vials from the batch and sends them to the lab.
- Group Test Hub works with Janoshik, Vanguard and Freedom. Members pay through Stripe under an alias account. A small join deposit is credited to your share. Each share is the lab fee divided by the number of members. Vial donors and shippers get in-kind credit, and late joiners pay a full share that goes as store credit to the original members.
- BatchGuild runs pools where the organiser picks the lab: Janoshik, MZ Biolabs, Freedom or TrustPointe. A seat costs the lab bill divided by the seats. It refers direct orders to Accumark.
- Peptide Test gives each group an ID, a list of payments and a balance view. Extra vials cost less than the first.
- Testides in Canada runs public group campaigns paid by card or Interac e-transfer.
Our guide on how to run a peptide group test covers vial picking and cost splits. HK Analytical also takes group tests.
Other rating sites, if you want scores rather than a test
Peptigrity, Disclosed Labs and several newer sites score vendors and labs from COAs that others paid for. VialAudit is different: it makes anonymous quarterly buys and sends them to partner labs it does not name. ChemVerify buys products and tests them at Janoshik, MZ Biolabs and Vanguard. None of these sites tests your vial. Our comparison of peptide rating sites explains each method.
How to choose
- Decide what you need to know. Identity, purity and mg answer “is it what the label says”. Endotoxin and sterility answer different questions, and each needs its own vials.
- Check who will see the result. Free and community tests are usually public.
- Add shipping to the published turnaround. Freedom Diagnostics and Accumark, for example, start the clock when they accept the sample.
- Check what your vendor accepts. If you want a refund, read the vendor’s terms before you pick a lab.
- Do not expect an outside report to change a Finnrick rating. Finnrick’s rankings use only the tests it processes.
What HK Analytical offers
We test the vial you send. You can order identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC), content per vial, blind GLP-1 identification, endotoxin (LAL), Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days), residual solvents, counter-ion (TFA, acetate), water content (Karl Fischer) and vial-to-vial consistency, in any mix, in one order. See the test list. Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days.
Every number comes with its raw data. The report is a signed record with a private link, and anyone you give it to can check it on /verify. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Quotes are on request.
Questions
Is there a free alternative to Finnrick?
Free lab tests are rare. Finnrick's community programme is the main one. Some vendors pay toward their customers' tests, and Finnrick's own Grow programme works that way. Otherwise, a group test splits one lab fee among the buyers of a batch, which brings the cost per person down.
Can I choose the lab on Finnrick?
Yes, in a Custom order. In September 2026 the labs you could pick were Krause Analytical, Ichor Life Sciences, BTLabs and PharmLabs. Community and Standard tests go to the lab Finnrick picks. Custom results are published unless you pay for the confidential option.
Will a test from another lab change a vendor's Finnrick rating?
No. Finnrick's rankings are built from the tests Finnrick processes. Vendors' own COAs do not drive them, and COAs hosted through Finnrick's Pulse service do not count toward the rating either. An outside report stays yours to use.
Which Finnrick alternative gives results soonest?
By published figures: Accumark 48–72 hours after it accepts the sample, Freedom Diagnostics an average of 1–3 business days, TrustPointe and PharmLabs 3–5 business days. Add shipping time. A USP <71> sterility test takes 14 days at any lab, because the method incubates for 14 days.
Finnrick vs Janoshik: which should I use?
They are different services. Use Finnrick if you want a free, published test and can wait. Use Janoshik, or another lab, if you want to choose the tests, keep the result private, or get a report sooner: Janoshik publishes an average of 7 business days.
