Peptide testing in Hong Kong: what the lab tests and how samples reach it

short answer

HK Analytical is a peptide testing lab in Hong Kong. It tests research peptides for identity (LC-MS), purity (HPLC), content per vial, endotoxin (LAL), Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) and more, in any mix per sample. Samples arrive by courier from Hong Kong, mainland China or abroad. Results within days of receipt. Every report can be checked on hkanalytical.com/verify.

Peptide testing in Hong Kong: what HK Analytical tests

HK Analytical is a peptide testing lab in Hong Kong. It tests research peptides, such as GLP-1 analogues, BPC-157, TB-500 and GHK-Cu, for buyers, group-test organisers and brands. One order can include any mix of the tests below, chosen per sample.

Test What it answers
Identity (LC-MS) Whether the main peptide has the expected mass, so it is the peptide on the label
Purity (HPLC) The share of UV-absorbing material, at the stated wavelength, that is the target peptide
Content per vial (mg) How many mg of the target peptide, as free base, are in the vial, against a reference standard
Blind GLP-1 identification Which GLP-1 family peptide is in the vial, or a mix, without being told the label
Endotoxin (LAL) Endotoxin in EU per mg and EU per vial
Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) Whether microbes grew from the tested units over at least 14 days of incubation
Residual solvents Named solvents left from synthesis or purification
Counter-ion (TFA, acetate) The share of the powder that is TFA or acetate salt
Water content (Karl Fischer) Water as % of the powder
Vial-to-vial consistency Content for each of several vials, with mean, range and relative standard deviation

The lab does not offer blend analysis per component, sequence confirmation, hGH size variants, copper content, bioburden, microbial screens or fentanyl screens. Each test page under our tests says what the result can and cannot tell you.

A peptide lab, not a general testing laboratory

Many searches for a “Hong Kong testing laboratory” are looking for something else: product safety, food, construction materials, calibration or medical tests. Hong Kong has accredited labs in many of these fields. Peptide testing is a narrow field. It needs mass spectrometry for identity, HPLC for purity, reference standards for content, and safety tests such as endotoxin and sterility.

Hong Kong’s accreditation scheme for labs is HOKLAS, the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme, run by the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS). For non-medical testing labs, its criteria follow ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Participation is voluntary, and HKAS publishes the up-to-date accredited labs by category. Accreditation covers the specific tests listed in a lab’s scope, so a scope for construction materials says nothing about peptides.

We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Instead, every number in our reports comes with its raw data, so a reader can judge the evidence directly. For what accreditation does and does not cover in peptide testing, see ISO/IEC 17025 and peptides.

How samples reach the lab

Send every sample by a tracked courier or delivery service. The route depends on where you are.

From How What to know
Hong Kong Local courier or delivery service Use a tracked service and put the custody form in the parcel
Mainland China A courier that handles cross-border parcels Hong Kong is a separate customs territory under Article 116 of the Basic Law, so the parcel crosses a customs border. Declare it accurately as samples for laboratory analysis
Other countries A tracked international courier Follow the courier’s rules and your own country’s rules for sending samples

In every case, send vials unopened, numbered and padded, with the custody form filled in by hand. Endotoxin and sterility each need their own unopened vials. Our quote says which vials to send and the address, and we send the sample form on request. You are responsible for making sure you may legally send the sample to our lab; we do not give customs or import advice.

For the step-by-step route from the mainland, see sending samples from mainland China to Hong Kong. For packing from anywhere, see how to send peptides for testing.

How long it takes

Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days. The clock starts when the parcel reaches the lab, so courier transit comes first. How it works shows each step from quote to report.

How reports are verified

A report is only useful if a reader can confirm it is genuine and unchanged. Each HK Analytical report has these features:

  • Raw data with every number. Chromatograms and spectra sit behind each result.
  • A signed record. The report is signed with an Ed25519 signature over the canonical record.
  • A private link. Each report has a report ID and an access key, and opens on hkanalytical.com.
  • A public check. Anyone with the ID and key can check the report on hkanalytical.com/verify.
  • The lab’s own vial photo. The report shows the vial as received, so you can compare the cap, fill and lot with your own.
  • The client relationship. Each report states how the client is related to HK Analytical, inside the signed record.
  • No silent edits. Reports are never edited after issue. A change makes a new version, and the old one is marked superseded.

The example report shows all of this on one document.

What to ask any lab before you send peptides

Whether you use a lab in Hong Kong or elsewhere, these questions sort peptide labs quickly:

  1. How is identity shown? Look for a measured mass against the expected mass. ICH Q6A says identity by a single retention time is not specific.
  2. What does the mg figure mean? Net peptide or total powder, measured against which reference standard.
  3. Is endotoxin a number? EU per vial or per mg, not only “pass”.
  4. Is sterility the 14-day USP <71> test? A faster screen is a different test.
  5. Is raw data on the report? Chromatogram, peak table and mass spectrum.
  6. Can you verify the report on the lab’s own website? By ID and key, not only through a seller’s PDF.
  7. What does any accreditation cover? Ask for the scope, and check that it names peptide tests.

How to order

Quotes are on request: request a quote with the products, label claims, lots and the tests you need. Group-test organisers can use group testing, and brands and vendors can set up batch testing through our vendor page. What changes the price of a test, and what should stay the same at any price, is in affordable peptide testing.

Questions

Is there a peptide testing lab in Hong Kong?

Yes. HK Analytical tests research peptides at its lab in Hong Kong: identity by LC-MS, purity by HPLC, content per vial, blind GLP-1 identification, endotoxin (LAL), Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days), residual solvents, counter-ion, water content and vial-to-vial consistency. Samples can come from Hong Kong, mainland China or abroad by courier.

Is HK Analytical a HOKLAS accredited laboratory?

No. We do not hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, through HOKLAS or any other body. Instead, every number in our reports comes with its raw data, such as chromatograms and spectra, and each report is a signed record you can check on hkanalytical.com/verify.

How long does peptide testing take in Hong Kong?

Results within days of receipt. Sterility (USP <71>, 14 days) is the one test that takes 14 days, because the method incubates for 14 days. Courier transit time to the lab comes on top.

Can I use a Hong Kong lab if I am outside Hong Kong?

Yes. Send unopened vials by a tracked courier with the custody form inside, and declare the contents accurately. You are responsible for making sure you may legally send the sample to our lab. Our quote says which vials to send and the address, and we send the sample form on request.

Does the lab test anything other than peptides?

The test menu covers research peptides. It is not a medical, food or consumer-product lab. If you searched for a general testing laboratory in Hong Kong, HKAS publishes the HOKLAS-accredited labs in each category.
